Why you'll love this 4 Ingredient Blueberry Sauce

This homemade blueberry sauce is all about simplicity and natural ingredients. Made with fresh blueberries, maple syrup, and a touch of cornstarch, it strikes the perfect balance of sweetness and tang. You can even use frozen blueberries if fresh ones aren’t in season, ensuring this recipe is accessible year-round. Plus, it's naturally dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan, making it a wholesome addition to any diet.

Tips for Perfect Blueberry Sauce

For the best results, simmer the blueberries gently to release their juices while keeping some of their texture intact. If you prefer a smoother sauce, mash the berries more thoroughly. The cornstarch slurry ensures a silky, thickened consistency—just adjust the amount slightly based on how thick you like your sauce. Adding a hint of lemon or orange zest at the end gives the sauce a bright, zesty finish.

A touch of Raspberry

I love to make different versions of this sauce by replacing one third or half of the blueberries with raspberries for some extra tartness.
